                                              Details of Duties. Orders and Responsibilities for Air
                                          
Traffic Control Personnel on Rehearsal Day and "D" Day

Introduction

1.     A brief outline of the Air Traffic Control Organisation on "R" and "D" Days is given below for the information of all Air  Traffic Control personnel.

2.    Personnel detailed for duty are listed below, together with their particular duties and responsibilities. The same personnel are detailed on "R" and "D" Days for continuity.

3.    All personnel are to read these orders very thoroughly and are to sign against their names as having read and full understood their duties. Should anyone be in doubt on any point, however trivial it may appear to be, they are to contact the Senior Air Traffic Control     Officer, immediately.

4.    Times of reporting for duty on these two days together with the period of watch will be promulgated on the usual duty rosters.

5.    A more detailed verbal briefing for all personnel will be given by the Senior Air Traffic Control Officer on a date and time to be notified.

Duties

6.    The following personnel are detailed for duty on the Airfield on both "R" and "D" days.

                (a)         Control Tower 

Flight Lieutenant H. F. Martin - D.A.T.C.O.
Flight Lieutenant H. Lund - D.A.T.C.O.
Cpl. Louden - Ops Clerk
S.AC. Bielby - Driver-Ops. Clerk.
Sgt Turnbull - Radar Fitter
Cpl Bexendale   - Radar Fitter
Cpl Hamer - Wireless Fitter
Cpl Gregory - Electrician .
Sgt Hamlin - A.T.C.   Standing by to run emergency strip immediately after "H" Hour.

Flight Lieutenant Creagh - A.T.C.O.
S.A.C. Hutchings  - Ops. Clerk
Chf Tech. Piel  - Wireless Fitter


Flight Lieutenant Creagh is to check that the stand-by equipment is fully serviceable and that all the necessary aircraft Movement Control and Meteorological Data is available. The vehicle is to be evacuated just before "H" Hour and manned again immediately afterwards. Flight Lieutenant Creagh is to check the serviceability of all the equipment and report to the Senior Air Traffic Control Officer be tele-talk telephone immediately after "H" Hour.

Flight Lieutenant B. Witmond - A.T.C.O.
S.AC Butterworth - Ops. Clerk

Flight Lieutenant Witmond is to check that the stand-by equipment is fully serviceable and that all the necessary Aircraft Movement  Control and Meteorological Data is available. At 07.25 hours. The above personnel are to return to the Tower in readiness for evacuation just prior to "H" Hour. Immediately after "H" Hour, Flight Lieutenant Whitmond is to check the serviceability of the equipment and report to S.A.T.C.O. by telephone.
