25 Nov: (Sunday 6.15 pm)

    Left Leeds at 10.5 a.m. for Gloucester after saying cheerio to Ma & Pa.

    Arrived in Gloucester about 4.00 p.m. and walked to the bus station. The bus was ready to leave, and arrived at Innsworth about 4.25 p.m.

    Since then I’ve been round to several departments, and got issued with bedding and now settled in pretty comfortable – so far!

    At present time there is only one bloke of our lot arrived here – the rest should be in any time now. This billet is like a bombed derelict, I’ve seen cleaner S. Houses.

    (11.6 p.m.) Most of the guys have returned now and six of us have just come in from the movies. Boy, these beds are lousy. Roll on Xmas Isle.
