30 Dec: Sun. (10.30 pm)

    We got up fairly late this morning and didn’t bother with breakfast. In the afternoon Smudge, Mack, Tony & myself went to the lagoon. It’s a wonderful sight there with the very deep green water, white sand and the palm trees growing almost to the waters edge. 

    Saw my first shark this evening when a bunch of lads landed it on the sand with grappling irons. Unfortunately, before they could kill it, it got free and managed to get into the sea in spite of four hefty blokes hanging on. It must have bee 8ft long and was a man eater. Went to the ‘Kamak San’ and saw ‘Ramsbottom Rides Again’.
