    Just got back from the flics with Don & Bob – the show was ‘Revenge of the Creature’. It’s very queer watching a film with the starts above which seem so much brighter than in England, and the eternal booming of the Pacific in the background.

    Started on new watch system today, and it doesn’t seem too bad except that we have to get up early every odd morning. The mail plane came in last night and there were two letters from home.

     I’m starting to go a nice brown now and have deliberately sunbathed twice with no ill effects so I think I will risk it without a shirt from now on. The flies were up at the W/T station in swarms today, don’t know what attracted em.
