17 Dec: Monday (5.30 pm)

    Found four large blisters on my left arm this morning from the effects of the sun yesterday. Stayed in bed until dinner time. Just got back from tea with Don B. He has gone straight to bed with headache. 

    Once again just when we thought we were getting used to it, the terrible heat is making everybody feel queer.

    Don and Johnny have volunteered to go to Jarvis Is. After Xmas. Not that it matters as we shall all be going sooner or later to either Malden, Penryhn or Jarvis. And then if lucky we shall do a spell on Lulu or at least visit the rest camp near the Port. Am on first and 3rd watch tomorrow.
