12 Dec: Wednesday (11.30 pm)

    Had all today free. There was supposed to be a parade this morning for the C.O. but Don and I skived off it. It has been really hot today and most of our faces have begun to peel rapidly.

     Everyone is having trouble adjusting themselves to the job at hand, as the procedure seems very diff. to what we were taught. Now there is a rumor that we are going to get procedure lessons. Don is going for the first time tomorrow – he’ll be lucky.

     Lost at Pontoon tonight (20 fags). Lights kept failing around 10.30 pm. But seem OK now. Went swimming twice.
