10 Dec: Monday (12.00 pm)

    Had lecture today on how hard we shall have to work an on saving as much as possible, such as water and food. We were taken up to the W/T station today and given our watch times. It’s very good for a start – only work 27 hrs a week. 

    Am hoping to visit other parts of the island when we get used to the sun and can walk without much effort. Found that there is no water in the W/T station and so all we have has to be carried up there to make tea. 

    Don’s eyes were very swollen this morning and it is agony for all of us putting on our shirts. Start work tomorrow. Put message in bottle (Drambuie) and threw in sea.
