7 Dec: Friday 

    We’re now about 1½ run from Honolulu. The flight has been very smooth in spite of warnings about bad weather. Had two super meals and won 30 cents off Don at cards. This morning we changed into kaki at Moffat Field and had time for breakfast and lunch before leaving.

    We’ve had a couple more slugs of the Drambuie bought at Shannon. It tastes better every time. The atmosphere has got very much warmer since leaving Frisco in spite of it being night time. 

    (12.00 pm)    Met in Honolulu by Hula girls with flower garlands. Had run of airport restaurant.
