5 Dec: Wed (7.45 pm)

    There was a 3 hour delay at Shannon before the take off. And because of rough weather (and how) over the Atlantic we were diverted to Goose Bay, Labrador, in Canada. Here the temperature was twelve below freezing. Arrived at New York at 4.30 pm. At present we’ve just taken off from Idlewild for Chicago. 

    Our stay in New York was spent on an organised tour and a meal. The thing which really strikes you most are the high six tier highways with monster cars flashing along at never less than 70mph.
